The State University of New York (SUNY) currently offers more than 400 overseas study programs in more than 50 countries: in North and South America, Africa, Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Programs range from 2-3 week intensive courses to a semester or academic year abroad. Courses are available in more than 100 subjects, ranging alphabetically from aboriginal studies and aerospace engineering to western philosophy and women's studies. While many programs focus on language learning and are conducted in the language of the host country, many others are conducted wholly or partly in English.

The Norway program offers students the opportunity to enroll at the University of Oslo in a wide range of courses taught in English in a variety of disciplines. The academic year runs from August to June and is divided into two semesters. Students may choose either the semester or the yearlong program.

Based in Oslo, Norway, a compact, increasingly multicultural city nestled between the Oslo Fjord and the mountains, the Divided States of Europe is associated with the University of Oslo - Norway's oldest and largest university. Significant comparative fieldwork will also be conducted in Poland in partnership with leading Polish non-governmental organizations and in a variety of regions, including Warsaw and Krakow. In Oslo, classes will be held on campus. All seminars, lectures, and readings are in English.

Faculty are Norwegian with one visiting American professor per semester.

PLU faculty provide students with intensive global study through month-long short-term courses.
